“The fact that it is harder to obtain makes it a novelty,” Flower Tucci concedes via e-mail, when asked what she would say to doubters. The gifted porn star with the unbelievably shapely backside is talking, of course, about her uncanny ability to squirt on cue during her intensely animated fuck scenes. How animated? She once fucked Manuel Ferrera in the crook of a tree, if that’s any indication. It was during the film Hook-ups 9 and, for a long while, that scene stood out as one of the craziest Flower had ever done. In true Tucci fashion, however, she eventually outdid herself. “I just recently banged five 18-year-old military boys on a bus to San Diego,” she professes, “but that was just for fun!”
‘Novelty’ is an interesting choice of words coming from the mouth of this California-born wild child. It implies some sight gag, a prop akin to the more common version of squirting flower: the age-old trick boutonniere clasped to the lapel of some motley-looking clown. But, if squirting were as simple as a plastic tube and a trigger mechanism hidden inside a patchwork jacket pocket, everyone would be able to do it, something that clearly is not the case. Flower insists, however, that, “every woman can squirt. She just has to succumb to her orgasm mentally and physically.”
Flower should know. The girl who earned her name because of the way she can make her rectal muscles ‘bloom’ would be the first to admit that her ability to squirt didn’t come naturally, though she desperately wanted to learn. “I first saw squirting on Playboy TV with Alicia Klass,” Flower explains. “That was what first piqued my interest enough to enter an adult video store at age twenty and to ask for movies about squirting.”
The clerk on duty that night recommended she check out the Seymore Butts line Female Ejaculation: The Complete Guide and the rest, as they say, is history. Strangely enough, it would be Seymore Butts that would offer Tucci (pronounced “Tushy”) her first exclusive contract.
After months of practice, the magic moment for Flower happened in a motor home while on vacation. “I was using a pocket rocket on my clit while [the guy I was with at the time] was fucking me,” Flower recalls in an old interview. “We were in missionary and he pulled out for a second. This big gush just flew up and almost hit the ceiling of the motor home.” It was a grand achievement for the sexually charged Tucci, though in time, she would learn to squirt much further: seventeen feet to be exact. “The seventeen foot shot was measured on the set of the Great American Squirt Off,” she would say. “It was measured from the tip of my pussy to where the last drip of girl goo lands.” Always nice to know there are standards in place for these sorts of things.
While the image of a skyward gusher grazing the fake wood paneling on the roof of a motor home may seem like a bit of a tall tale to most, to women like Flower who experience such things they are very real. “After feeling that type of orgasm, I had to have more!” Flower exclaims. Still, as with the case of her actual birth date, (listed as 1977 by some sources though Tucci cites January 1981 as her actual birth date) there remains much confusion and misinformation about squirting. Despite supporting literature and visual evidence, even some so-called experts disqualify the gush phenomenon as nothing more than urolagnia, or peeing. It has created something of a controversy.
In 2001, The British Board of Film Classification refused to grant the R-18 designation to a film called British Squirt Queens, concluding that all examples of female ejaculation they had seen to date were actually just urinating during sex. The problem is that, in some countries like Britain, urolagnia falls under the heading of indecency according to a 1959 law. Any hint of such a thing anywhere in a movie or on associated packaging, by definition, is prohibited from being sold. So, while in most countries squirting is only a question of physiology, in Britain it becomes a more serious question of revenue. Because the R-18 rating is crucial to any film if it is to be sold in adult sex shops, manufacturers were required to delete all applicable scenes and to rename the film British Cum Queens. When asked if the restrictions have hurt sales of her own films overseas, Flower doesn’t let on anything of the sort. “I believe it makes my movies more wanted,” she flatly proclaims.
Wanted would be an understatement. Flower was in demand right from the start. A home movie intrigued three-time AVN Award winner Lexington Steele enough to cast her in Anabolic’s Balls Deep 6. A thank you note and some still photos of Flower’s flood sent to Seymour Butts led to her appearance on the Showtime program Family Business. “It was cool to be a part of one of the first reality porn shows on mainstream television,” she beams. That relationship with Adam Glasser led to a two-year exclusive contract with his company and the fame and notoriety that went along with it all. From her famous squirt competition with former porn star Cytherea, to her stint as a model for the Mofo Wear clothing line, to her own KSEX radio show Tushy Talk, Flower took it all in stride.
When her contract expired, however, Flower decided to become a free agent once again. “After being under contract for two years, I decided to spread my flower amongst the industry,” she says. As for her immediate future, Flower is working on her personal website and she is looking into directorial opportunities. She will also be signing for Elegant Angel at the 2008 AVN Expo. “But,” she says fondly, “I will always be a Tushy Girl.”
